Gelssing Character Turnaround
Gelssing Expression Sheet
An assignment from a character design class I took, my goal was to briefly write a faux episode, and design then illustrate an insert character for a Hanna-Barbera TV show. I chose The Jetsons, and collaborated with a fellow student to write a beach-trip episode. The two insert characters, J3NNY and Gelssing, (most-right) are the one-episode relief character and the antagonist. My friend's design was a delight to interpret and illustrate. My own process of getting to the four-armed, sly and thieving con-artist was enlightening learning experience. The final design, deliverables, and lineup were designed in the class assignment to mimic industry deliverable expectations.

My capstone project was self-directed, and I designed, modeled, rendered, and 3D printed the ship illustrated in the surrounding images. My experience making this ship was an interesting. I had modeled a few ship designs in 3D before, both for class assignments and for my own personal projects, but this capstone was a more intentional approach. The scale and size of this ship needed to be clearly communicated, and I was striving for a certain grasp from the viewer as they stood in front of my canvas.

Little Red Riding Hood ride's a bike!
I re-imagined the classic fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood with a modern context and a new twist. The Wolf, clever as ever, sits reading a newspaper. The girl in red, now more "adventurous" than ever, goes through the woods on her motorcycle, and the lumberjack is actually not an afterthought!
